The worst argument
Had this tonight: 18U playing FED rules, R2, less than 2 out. Batter drills one over F7's head. R2 takes off, gets halfway to 3B, thinks F7 might catch the ball, drifts back so he's right in front of me. The 3B coach is telling him to tag up, tag up!
F7 makes the catch, and R2 never retouches but goes to 3B as the ball comes back to the infield. F5 gets the ball, and I'm expecting him to tag R2, but no, we have to give it to F1, get on the rubber, step off, and throw to 2B. Sigh. I bang the out, and the 3B coach wants to argue with me! "He was standing on the base when he caught it!" Uh huh, right coach, that's why you were hollering for him to tag up!
