Re: Misplaced appeal?

Pete! You have to tag either the runner or the base he left too soon - 2B. Standing on 3B is nothing.

Re: awarded home?

Incorrect. He is awarded safe passage to the base he would have achieved had there been no obstruction.

That said - his he had to change his path he was obstructed. I agree with the others that...

Re: Ball Bounding Forward off Top of Wall

There are a lot of lurkers. We have to make sure things are clear. Catching a ball in flight and falling over the fence is an out, not a HR as the thing he quoted (not said himself) said.

Re: Ball Bounding Forward off Top of Wall

Where do we disagree? If it hit the wall it's no longer in flight.

Re: Should This Have Been Ruled a Double (Two-Base Award)? (Video)

Once it hit the wall it was no longer in flight. Now if it gets deflected over it's a 2B award.

Re: Hawaii Loses Protect on Incorrect Ruling, Which Was Upheld

No. It was just a statement that there was only one way it could be an out and that it could not possibly have applied on this play.

Re: Hawaii Loses Protect on Incorrect Ruling, Which Was Upheld

In FED if you are on or beyond the next base when the ball goes out of play you cannot return.

Re: Hawaii Loses Protect on Incorrect Ruling, Which Was Upheld

The only way this would be an out (on appeal) is if they were using FED rules AND the BR was on or beyond 3B when the ball went out of play.

But CR doesn't use FED so it was an incorrect call.

I don't know what you were watching but the ump in the replay does two emphatic out signals

Re: Catch and Carry?

If you remember seeing (real time or replay) the Jeter-into-the-stands play there was a runner and he was awarded one base.
