I am about to buy my own gear for the first time and I am wondering how do you measure for shin guards? Is it middle of the knee to the start of the foot? And I am wondering should I get Champro Pro-Plus Low Profile Umpire Shin Guards or Diamond Featherweight Umpire Shin Guards? Thank you in advance for a response :D

If you check the GD website he has a measurement chart and so does Ump-attire that will help you as well. but there may be others that know that can help you. Weclome and best of luck finding what fits you and provides you the best protection that you are looking for.

Remember to include the shoes. If you wear mid cut plat shoes the shin guards will fit differently that if you wear low top shoes. IMO it is better to err on the shorter side. If they are too long they will move and spin no matter how tight you adjust them. Good luck.

All I have is Baseball shoes and no umpire shoes. So I guess it wont effect me. I know I should have shoes but I am a junior umpire and my feet are still growing lol.

Generally, unless you are 6' 2" or taller, the 15" shins will fit fine. Plate shoes don't affect the fit (although I wouldn't get back there without them). If and when you get mid-cut plate shoes, take the bottom piece of the shin guards off. You don't need them with the high tops. Some are attached with velcro for this purpose.

Just a note. There no need for your shins and c/p to "match".

For Junior umpires, you probably don't have real plate pants either. That's okay, because they're expensive, and you're still growing. So what you need is something that will fit under the pants you currently wear, and something that will help protect your instep.
