Which of the following is NOT true about the use of the courtesy runner?
Any player not currently in the game can be used as CR. To include players who have been in the gamebut are currently subsistuted out.
Courtesy runners are locked in to a position rather than a specfic player or spot in the lineup.
A player who has been used as a CR cannot be used as a pinch runner or pinch hitter in the same inning.
CR are only allowed for Pitchers and catchers whom played in previous half inning or in the TOP of the 1st are listed on the Lineup card.

Only players who have not appeared in the game (except those who have only appeared as courtesy runners) are eligible to appear as a courtesy runner.

This is false. Players that have already been in the game or are currently in the game cannot be a CR.
Rule 4: Players who have participated in the game in any other capacity are ineligible to serve as courtesy runners.
Courtesy runners are locked in to a position rather than a specfic player or spot in the lineup.
This is true. Once a CR is in for a catcher or pitcher, he cannot be CR for the other position.
Rule 2: The same individual runner may not be used for both positions (pitcher and catcher) during the game.
A player who has been used as a CR cannot be used as a pinch runner or pinch hitter in the same inning.
This is true and false. CR can be used as a pinch runner if no other substitutes are available.
Rule 5: A player may not run as a courtesy runner for the pitcher or the catcher and then be used as a substitute for another player in that half inning. If an injury,
illness or ejection occurs and no other runners are available, the courtesy runner may be used as a substitute.
CR are only allowed for Pitchers and catchers whom played in previous half inning or in the TOP of the 1st are listed on the Lineup card.
This is true. A coach cannot say "Smith is CR for Jones because Jones will be the F1 in the next inning." I don't have a rule cite for this, though.

It's the projected substitution rule...I think the example in the book discusses F2...but the same rule applies to F1
