This season in the KBO (Korean Baseball Organization) is to see 16 Imports in the upcoming KBO season will see 16 foregin players including 8 pitchers.
SK Wyverns just signed a one year deal with Gary Glover whom made his debut in 2009 and was 9-3 had a 1.96 ERA in 105 2/3 innings for 2010 season with SK repeating KBO champions. He signed for $250,000 salary plus a $50,000 signing bonus.
Lotte Gaints from Busan whom was managed for the past three season and taken to the playoffs each of those three season then manager Jerry Royoster who will not be returning this 2011 season sadly to say (Jerry brought a lot of excitment to the game here in korea and I think his mangement style was good for the game here IMO . But they did make a deal with former MLB reliever Bryan Cory and reliever Ryan Saduski. Karim Garcia from Mexico was released.
Satoru Kanermura of Japan and batter Ryan Garko (Ex-Cleveland Indian) with a 289 (BA) 21 (HR) and 61 runs batted in for the 2007 season and Julio Cesar Depaula also signed with clubs here in korea.
Kia Tigers Aqulino Roa Lopez signed again for $300,000 and a $75,000 signing bonus.
Brandon Knight whom pitched for the Samsung Lions last season signed with the Nexen Heroes as well as Benjamin Daniel Jukich. The last real big names that played here in Korea was Julio Franco Samsung Lions, Jamie Brown Ex-Red Sox, Daniel Rios and Felix Hosay (Sp). So we get to see some ex MLB and Minor league players whom have done well here and in Japan and have jumped back and forth. This is just and update for the coming season.
