Did I see Phillips hit the catcher's shin guards with his bat, or maybe the catcher kicked the bat???

Phillips tapped the shins of both Molina and the PU. It's something he's apparently always done.

Is running his mouth something Phillips' has always done, too?

"I hate the Cardinals..."

That whole sorry scene can be laid right at Phillips' door.
And what's with that jerk pitcher Scuaro, or whatever his name is ?
Kicking people with his spikes? If the Commissioner had any brass at all (though he doesn't) he'll lay a nice big juicy suspension on that clown.

Hmmm... didn't see him hit the PU's shin guards until you mentioned it.

He tries to tap Molina's... and Molina kicks his bat away.
Then he taps the PU's shin guards and THEN taps Molina's again.

I have to agree with you on both parts. During the game on Wednesday, Shannon and Rooney (Cardinals broadcasters) talked about the situation, but were hesitant to give their opinions. I think Shannon said something similar to "When suspensions are handed down, if there are any, ... "

I don't know if the broadcasters are prevented from giving personal feelings for fights, but it seemed like they were simply stating facts. Not that it's a bad thing.

Very hard to argue this point ....Brian is spot on here! :D I think his name is Cuerto, and what a puss! If you jump in the fray, and you get pinned against the wall, that's YOUR problem, ...you just don't start kicking people...douchebag!

Anyhow ...

Phillips, ..along with others, always greet the catchers and PUs during their first at bat. At least I've noticed a lot do this. Whether they tap their shins or actually just say hello, ...something happens ....some greeting...

Thought: Phillips COULD HAVE ignored Molina and NOT tapped him based on what he said on Monday night...but he didn't ....

At the end of the day ... this would have never happened if Phillips shuts his trap!

Agreed!

But, did you see who I think was Chris Carpenter (warm-up top, gets into it with Rolen, gets pushed up against backstop)? He kicked his own teammate (Dennys Reyes) in the side!

And what good is a brawl where someone has the chance to pop Dusty Baker one in his big, fat mouth and doesn't do it? :p

In the post-game, Rolen and Carpenter both said that they were just there talking but the way there were standing everyone thought they were arguing so that got the whole thing started up again.

Not really sure why LaRussa and Baker got ejected except for jawing at each other. Cueto should have gotten the hook.

As far as Wednesday's game, I'm sure the league called and told Jeff Kellogg to make it clear in the pre-game that no more sh1t would be tolerated.
