When I went to Harry's back in the stone age, we did have some guys who can for just a week or two weeks of camp. they knew they were going to get a shot at a job, they just wanted to get better. Does JEA allow this?

I know that now it seems there are many more short-term camps people can go to than there were in 1985. But a week or two weeks in FL before the season starts would be a wonderful way to get ready for the year, esp. if you can see hours of plate and game work that you can't get at a weekend camp.

We do offer the shortened visits to umpire school but do not advertise it. Each shortened umpire school visit is considered on a case-by-case basis. Jumping into umpire school during week 2 or 3 might do more harm than good. That's why we offer the shortened clinic immediately before school starts. A little learning is a dangerous thing!
