Question - there is a particular MLB umpire that I follow who is NOT on any of these crews; does he still have a shot at either league divisional series or will they be pooled from these games? In other words, are these guys the best of the best this season and anyone not chosen is done for the year? They are chosen on merit now correct? thanks

Does anyone know how they are doing the rotation for the 6 man crews? Meaning who moves where the next day? Who is on the plate tomorrow for games that took place today?

the lists are in order of the rotation

Did Gerry Davis want to be in a position to work the plate in a potential Game 5, as opposed to his fellow Crew Chiefs?

..................................................

Could be - or he may have worked the last game behind the plate, and
wanted to maintain some semblance of a rotation.

Sadly, it doesn't look as though there's going to be a Game 5; perhaps not even a Game 4 for the Cubbies.

Who are they going to blame this time? There's no Bartman to blame, no goat, either.

The 6 World Series umpires will come from these 24. The 12 umpires assigned to the respective League Championship Series have already been assigned, and, are 12 unique umpires not assigned to the respective League Divisional Series.

The LDS umpires know who they are the second to last Saturday of the season. The LCS umpires know who they are the last Saturday of the season. And, finally, the WS umpires know who they are the day after the conclusion of the latest ending LDS.

I think that's how it works, from memory.
