We all know that MLB is the pinicle of baseball, NFL is the top in football, NHL the elite in hockey, NBA is the best in basket ball, The premiership is the premier soccer league. But what is the best level to watch `real sport`? I find the above elite leagues show off the best talent on offer but find the `sport` frustrating as every thing is so clinical and sterile with perfect execution every time so it becomes a game of who makes the least mistakes, if any.

I prefer to watch the lower levels where passion, talent, and love for the game show through and enthusiasm are on a par with talent.

I`m off to see chargers v saints at wembily in a few weeks but I am equally excited about following the winter university football series over here.

So am I way off the mark.
Where do you guys feel the best `sport` levels are?

I really like the college level. Here the guys are actually playing for something more than a paycheck, the try harder and don't have over inflated egos. Football, baseball, or basketball. I really like college sports. I do like professional Football and Baseball and follow Professional baseball more than college. I follow college football more than the NFL, I can not stand the NBA.

GAA, hands down.

No paychecks, and they have to beg and scrimp for per diem when they're on the road. Football played without all the padding and equipment used in American football. And hurling - only recently have they begun using helmets, but little else.

All for the glory of the County, or at finals time, the province.

A long and rich history, too. Much longer than soccer, rugby, etc.

PENFOLDUMP, I looked at your photos. It looks like some of them are of games played in England, interesting. Do you have backstops and ...you know...fences over there?

I always been a big fan of college sports (all levels) and lower level minor league baseball....

The talent level is higher than the masses, and the passion for the game is at an all time high......

.

Brian C, did you mean curling?

As for my preferences, I prefer watching mainly college sports. Although, I think that sometimes, some of the egos with athletes at BCS schools seem to get a little overinflated.

I also like minor-league baseball as opposed to Major League Baseball. . . main reason is because the guys in the minors have more to play for than just a paycheck.

Hurling. Nothing to do with vomiting.

Check out http://gaa.ie/page/hurling.html

It's the fastest field sport in the world.
