This posting is about the interpretations of the rules associated with the scenarios below. We have had several discussions over the last few days during rain delays in the LL tournament about foreign objects, legally detached equipment, and the bat contacting the ball a second time in fair territory. I know similar scenarios to some of these have been posted before, but I wanted to solicit additional inputs on a few variations.

Scenario: Batted ball hits the plate and begins slowly rolling in FAIR territory towards first base line and then:

A) batter casually (no intent) drops bat ahead of the ball, the BAT STOPS, the ball rolls into the bat in FAIR territory and bounces into FOUL territory where the catcher picks it up.

B) batter casually (no intent) drops bat ahead of the ball, the BAT STOPS, the ball rolls into the bat in FOUL territory and bounces into FAIR territory where the catcher picks it up.

C) batter casually (no intent) drops bat behind the ball, the bat rolls into the back of the ball (bat rolling faster than ball) in FAIR territory, the ball rolls into FOUL territory where the catcher picks it up.

D) batter casually (no intent) drops bat behind the ball, the bat rolls into the back of the ball (bat rolling faster than ball) in FAIR territory, the ball stays in FAIR territory where the catcher picks it up.

E) catcher removes his mask and it accidentally slips out of his hand and lands ahead of the ball, the ball hits the mask in FAIR territory and rolls into FOUL territory where the catcher picks it up.

For each scenario A-E, what is your call and why?

Relevant rules from the LL green book:
2.0
A FAIR BALL is a batted ball that settles on fair ground between home and first base, or between home and third base, or that is on or over fair territory when bounding to the outfield past first or third base, or that touches first, second or third base, or that first falls on fair territory on or beyond first base or third base, or that while on or over fair territory touches the person of an umpire or player, or that, while over fair territory, passes out of the playing field in flight.

A FOUL BALL is a batted ball that settles on foul territory between home and first base, or between home and third base, or that bounds past first or third base on or over foul territory, or that first falls on foul territory beyond first base or third base, or that while on or over foul territory, touches the person of an umpire or player, or any object foreign to the natural ground.

6.05 -- A batter is out when –
(g) after hitting or bunting a fair ball, the bat hits the ball a second time in fair territory. The ball is dead and no runner may advance. If the batter-runner drops the bat and the ball rolls against the bat in fair territory and, in the umpire's judgment there was no intention to interfere with the course of the ball, the ball is alive and in play;

a) Foul ball. No different than hitting a stone. There are no foreign objects in fair territory. Ball hitting the motionless bat is not an issue.

b) Foul ball. Ball hit an object foreign to the natural ground while over foul terrotory.

c) batter is out. Bat hit the ball.

d) batter is out. bat hit the ball.

e) foul ball. a detatched equipment award requires intent on the part of the fielder.

Is it the same for NCAA and FED?
