Ive seen some velcro kits for your patches for your shirt. I was thinking it would look okay to use navy velcro on your navy shirts and powder velcro on your powder shirts etc. Do you guys think this is a good idea, or should I just sew it on?

Be careful with the velcro.
My experience with it is it doesn't do very well unless it is tacked on. Humidity, sweat and body heat does affect the velcro's ability to stick.

what i was thinking about doing was sticking the fuzzy part to my shirt pocket and the plasticy part to the patch and then sewing the fuzzy part into the pocket a little bit so it held good.

Instead of Velcro, try Double Sided Carpet Tape, or Double Sided Duct Tape. You buy a roll at the beginning of the Season, and just pull off and replace the tape as necessary on the patches.
So long as you remove the patches with the tape before washing, it does nothing to your shirts. Works great and keeps the patches in place the whole game.
