Runner on 1st. Illegal pitch by the pitcher, batter hits ball, she is thrown out at 1st base.
WHAT'S THE RULING?

runner to 2nd base, no pitch on batter
Is this Little League?
If so, the pitch is classified as a "no pitch" and called a ball.
It doesn't affect any runners, unless the illegal pitch was hit by the batter & reaches safely and all other runners advance at least one base. Then play proceeds without reference to the illegal pitch.
If the illegal pitch is hit and the batter & runners do not advance, then the offensive coach has a choice to accept or decline play before the next pitch.
This may also be HS & ASA rules, too. But I'm not sure.

Right, the right Ruling in this case would be to award a Ball to the Batter and Second Base to the Runner.
If the Batter(Runner) has reached first safely, and EVERY other runner advanced at least one base, the delayed Dead Ball would be off and there is no penalty for the illegal pitch.
That`s ISF, hope it`s the same for you

In most softball rules Except Little League, including NCAA, NFHS, ASA, NSA, ISA...
An illegal pitch results in:
Delayed Dead Ball......
(If base runners and batter/runner each advance one base safely, illegal pitch is ignored)
If base runners and batter do not each advance one base -
Ball is dead....
Runers are awarded one base
Batter is awarded a ball.
It is not a NO PITCH -
In Little league it is the same except runners are not awarded one base, batter IS awarded a ball.
Hope that helps
