I received my new rule book and the first thing I did was remove my 2010 edition from the protection cover and inserted my 2012 edition along with my rules index.

Rock on. I haven't received mine yet. When you have time, can you post the 2012 OBR rule changes in the rules section?

I was looking on the JE Academy site because they also have some things that are very good to purchase in Manuals, DVD etc. But did notice that the 2012 rule book is not offered
on that site. I wonder why all the other items that are listed can be purchased but not this rule book. Only Rule book listed is 2011.

Wouldn't be surprised if MLB has stoppped including them as a preferred distributor and their costs have gone up...

Mike: But it is sold in the store on this site and it is run by JE. Some of the items in the store on this site are the same as found in the Academy site also.

The Academy is still a provider of rule books, just haven't had a chance to put it up on the Academy site. It will be there soon. We are currently out of the country conducting a clinic in Switzerland. The cost has been the same, each and every year, it has not gone up at all.
In fact, it's one of the only, if not THE only place the books are discounted. (ABUA Members)

I was just reviewing some of the past MLB umpires procedures and interpretations manuals that I have starting with 2007 and 2009 editions. And of course the 2010 editions. The index's for the 2007-09 manuals are the same. The revised 2010 edition contents is set up different and there are a few things that were listed in the previous two editions that are not listed in the 2010. Some such as arrival at the ball park, new city, and baseballs.
The maual is also reduced in size and seems more easy to locate topics. Is there a reason why the three topics mentioned above have ben deleted? Just courious it is a very interesting manual to read and it surely clears a lot of things up when you have it for a reference and also the rule book.

Today when I went an checked my mail and to my surpraise I received a package and when I opened that package I was even more surpraised. Why along with the third edition of the Baseball Rules Index was enclosed the New 2012 MLB Umpires Manual. Wow what a surpraise for me. I have already started to read it. I am so thrilled. Thanks a million.
