Guys,
What have you noticed, honestly, about the general guidline for height that is needed to be selected to move on to MiLB when entering one of the 3 umpire schools?
I am considering plunking down the investment to "live the dream" but at 5-7 I dont know if I will have a fighting chance
Thanks for any input

My first crew chief in AAA was 5'6, and advanced to the Arizona Fall League if that helps answer your question.

I like that picture he may be looking up, to the batboy just because he is taller. I am sure he has control of the game there is no dout about that in my mind.

We have a young man from our association (Spokane, WA) who has made it as far as AA and is an instructor with JEAPU. He's a bit shorter than I am at 5'8". It's not so much about height as it is about applying the rules and your "command presence" on the field.

I know many 6'+ guys that can't command respect and don't have the field presence needed to manage games at the 9U level. Don't let your relatively diminutive size hold you back.
I'd be it's not held you back thus far in your life.....has it?
Go for it man! I wish I had 20 years ago.

Go for it!!! No one in life should regret pulling the trigger because your not sure if you fit the bill. Many successful people may never have become who they are, had they not had the gusto to follow their hearts, and pursue their personal dreams. You are the very best of what our future holds. good luck! I can only hope to see you on TV someday!
ballls and strikes baby!!!
