This is probably an old subject, and I'm not sure how many years in a row the NCAA has been doing this, (I know it's at least the second) ...but what are your thoughts about the umprires being mic'ed up?

And, ... they're locating all the pitches, ... "that's a ball, low" ...

From what I've heard and read, doesn't that go against everything that's taught?

Thoughts?

They may have been instructed to do so. That would be my guess.

That's how I was taught - verbalize the close pitches, esp. early in the game. I communicate with my F2's & have found it makes for a much smoother game.

Now we can watch the game and smile, when we hear someone saying something to the catcher...... Verbalizing things can go both ways. Every pitch no,,,but getting in someone's ear early on, does everybody great.

Yes I noticed this also and even the base umpires on their calls when a runner was called safe yes he was or is in there. Was this the second year that they have done this?
