We all know that jewerly can not be worn by any player period to includue ear rings and except for a medical alert necklace or a religious medal. The medical alert must be securely taped to the players body. What about players that have these leather necklaces that you see now days Are they considered jewerly rubber bands.

We have umpires make them take it all off except for the two that are authorized is this correct thing to do or are they going a little too far in forcing this? Would like some feed back. I fully understand that this is a safety issue.

If they weren't born with it, it's jewelry. Exceptions would be the cases you already mentioned: medical or religious.

It's jewelry, and it's enforced here. If your league (in Korea) wants to change the rule, then I suppose they can do so. The umpires should be consistent on this.

We don't want to change it at all. We want to enforce it just like they do in the states so we are consistant with your feedback because we make them take it off. Thanks

Since when was a religious medal not considered jewelry? I've always worn a St. Christopher medal around my neck, but it would have to come off if I were a player. BTW, I'm not even going to consider looking for something taped inside a player's uniform.

1-5-12: Jewelry shall not be worn (See 3-3-1d) except for religious or medical medals. A religious medal must be taped and worn under the uniform. A medical alert must be taped and may be visible.
