hernia recovery

Thanks to a nasty bout with the cold/flu season and its accompanying fits of violent coughs, I reinjured a hernia that was repaird 17 years ago. That surgery was in the winter. Has anyone had summer hernia surgery and what was their recovery time? This is a low hernia just below my beltline.

depends on how much of your intestine is trapped and if it´s inflamed or not.
but at least 14 days.

my boy (16y) had this a few weeks ago.
2 weeks no sports and the first week more or less only lying in bed.
a teenager who loves sport grounded for 14 days - that was hell;)
