I need a new single bar mask frame. Looking for one light weight. Preferably Black. Does anyone have one they wish to sell?

Thanks!

I have to disagree. The honig's mask frame (IMO) are cheap and just don't feel safe.

Go with a Wilson Frame, must better.

I've got one of those closeout frames, and it's a built like a tank. Every bit as sturdy as my WV.

They're both twice as heavy as my Schutt though.

The Diamond mask is the same as the Schutt. I got my Schutt from a rep, and don't know where they sell them.

baseballsavings.com has both mask. Diamond is steel frame and quick dry chin pad. Schutt is carbon steel and cool-max lined chin pad. Schutt is $90.00 while Diamond is $58.00. If you are not in a hurry for the mask, they always have sales on everything around all holidays. Cool

I thought that the Schutt and the Diamond mask were mostly the same. The Schutt does have a leather pad vs. the Diamond synthetic pad.

From a frame standpoint it appears to me Schutt, like the Gerry Davis version, are just private labels of the Diamond. Diamond on their corporate web site states that their DFM-UMP mask is an alloy:

Incidently, I own the the Diamond version and think that it is an excellent product for a fair price.

The pads on my Schutt are synthetic. CoolMax and vinyl, I believe. They're fine, just too thin, IMO.

I have been using this frame for 4 years. It is very light and very strong. I have taken monster hits in it with no problem at all. The frame does get a few small dents when it is hit. But, if you understand the phyics of the situation, this is good. You want the mask to dent. It is a way the mask abosrbs some of the energy from the impact that would otherwise go to you face. I get a new frame every 2 or 3 years.

Have to agree with Richard here. Buying each item (frame, pads, harness) separately, my black Honigs mask was a little more than $50, and worth every penny.

Working men's leagues on down, the mask has taken several hits. I'm only as ugly as I was before the shots Very Happy .

Maybe its a different mask frame I felt then, but I had a fellow umpire that ordered a honigs mask and when it came it, we both concurred it was garbage. The metal was just felt cheap.
